VINCENT TRUE TONE

Our instruments are clearly inspired by some of the most iconic designs of the 20th century, not only in terms of materials and appearance, but in particular by the very clear and consistent principles of industrial design.
Keeping up this approach we introduced a set of innovative features, to redefine playability and tonal quality on a whole new level. That‘s why we call them the Vincent True Tone features.

Under the hood of a classic look, these features make each Vincent an outstanding instrument. A Vincent will take you all the way from vintage to modern, providing superior sound and dreamlike comfort. It will give you the confidence of an agile, responsive tone that shapes well with your playing and sits great in any mix.

A good instrument starts with a good neck. We believe in the unique tonal qualities of the one-piece maple neck. Unfortunately traditional one-piece necks often suffer from lethal trussrod problems, so we completely redesigned the trussrod itself as well as the way it is installed in the neck. Our unique two-piece sliding trussrod ensures perfect action and can be easily adjusted by the freely accessible trussrod nut.

To preserve the even and balacend tone of the one-piece neck in case of an additional fretboard, we only use a veneer-fretboard with a thickness of only 2mm. The veneer fretboard follows the radius of the frets and is cut completely by each fretslot. This annihilates any tensions between neck and fretboard, providing a more natural tone and better overall neck resistance.

The most significant innovation regarding the neck is our carbon stringguide with zero-fret. While the zero-fret provides optimum string action and consistent tone, the notched stringguide acts as a inverted nut, keeping the strings perfectly in place and reducing string-friction to ensure great tuning stability.
To maintain the accuracy of the fretwork, providing playing comfort and clean string action for a maximum of time, we use stainless steel fretwire on all our necks.

We love the metaphor of an instrument being like a sausage in a bun. With the neck as the sausage and the body as the bun.

So we went for the most crisp, tastefull and lightwheigt body possible. Sharing the preference for alder as body-wood, we keept it’s well liked balanced character, while emphasising it‘s rich transients, detailed articulation and favorable structure with our unique honeycomb chambering. This pattern of small holes and bridges drastically reduces the wheight of the body, while maintaining it‘s physical strength without compromising the tone by any parasitic resonances.

To optimize string-to-body coupling we introduced the Tone Block, a piece of massive hard-maple, sitting right under the bridge and anchoring the string’s ball-ends in the core of the body. It acts as the foundation for our custom, top-loading stainless steel bridge, forming a semi string throug body system.
Of course our bridge also allows for traditional horizontal loading, for a lighter, airier tone overall or in order to balance out individual strings.

To bring all these features to their full extend, we attached importance to an uncompromising surface treatment. All our necks feature a satin oil finish, giving you a pleasent, authentic playing sensation. Our bodies receive a wafer-thin high-gloss finish, that enables optimum sound unfolding.

From stadium to club, from studio to the couch, a Vincent is a friend to trust.
